Introduction

Hello and welcome to Big Book Blog AA (BBBLOGAA)

WHAT WILL I FIND ON THIS WEBSITE?

Anonymous sober musings in written form, similar to those in the back of the Big Book or ramblings you might hear at a speaker meeting, but different because there is no filter here.

MISSION:

To give people an open forum to share their sobriety stories/writings/ideas with zero judgement, gatekeeping, or time limits while staying completely anonymous.

GOAL:

To help ourselves and others stay sober.

RULES:

Every story submission must include at least one quote from the Big Book or 12 & 12 (paraphrasing is accepted).

WHY WE DO IT:

Sharing is an essential part of staying sober, but not everyone who wants to share gets to share. This is an open forum to let it all out. No fear of standing in front of a crowd, raising your hand, involuntary awkwardness, or randos staring at you for an hour from blank Hollywood Squares on a zoom call. Or maybe you like that stuff and you want to share your story in written from for once and spam the link to everyone in your contacts app? Either way, writing is a critical part of healing. Having it posted anonymously on a blog can give us comfort knowing our deepest darkest secrets are out in the world helping others who can relate. Plus, you might save a life while saving your own, right?

HOW TO SUBMIT A STORY:

Submit a story by sending text to: bigbookblogaa@gmail.com.

Our team will upload your story and send you a link.

We invite you to submit as many stories as you want.

*If this is your first submission, please provide an anonymous pen name so we can create an author profile for you.

PRIVACY:

This websites lives and dies with the anonymity of its writers.

STORY IDEAS:

Need help getting started? Here are some good topics to get you writing:

1) What is was like, what happened, and what it's like now

2) The first time I drank/used

3) The last time I drank/used

4) Situations that used to baffle us

5) Signs of alcoholism before you started drinking

6) How you chose your sponsor

7) What is your Higher Power and how you came to choose it

8) Full blown drunk-a-log (drunk-a-blog)

9) A specific drunk-a-log event from your life

10) Emotional sobriety

11) Relapse

12) Experience with the fellowship (relationships)

*DISCLAIMER: None of the stories on this website are AA approved reading material. We are in no way affiliated with the actual organization of Alcoholics Anonymous. We are totally independent and do not accept donations at this time. This is a totally free website. If you want to donate money to AA, please donate to your local meeting's 7th Tradition basket.
